Timing Meet (Sunday, May 6th) OPEN for swim sign up!
Hi Team -
It’s already that time: time for your first “meet info” email from me, Circle C Seals Meet Director. It’s a little crazy that I'm emailing you about a meet and your kids haven’t had their first practice yet, but that’s just how it worked out this year!
Timing Meet
Our Timing Meet is coming up on Sunday, May 6th, so here’s some info that you should know about what to expect, and how to get signed up.
The Timing Meet is a no pressure chance for swimmers to get some current times for the season, and for new swimmers to learn the procedures of summer league swim meets. It’s also a great chance for new parents to do the same, to see how we run our swim meets and get familiar with their volunteer positions. It’s just our team, it’s nice and short, and plenty of fun.
Meet Sign Up
For this meet only, your kids can swim all 4 strokes, and 9 & Over swimmers can swim the IM as well. Usually there is a 3 individual event maximum for meets but this meet exists so swimmers can get some base-line times for event entries during the season so they can sign up for up as many events as they like. If your swimmers are unlikely to be legal in butterfly, breaststroke or 100 IM it’s probably best not to sign up for these events yet as swimmers will be disqualified for stroke infractions as at a normal meet. This is a good learning experience for everyone involved. Coaches will have information on what caused disqualification after the meet and can answer any questions.
Times from the timing meet are used to ‘seed the heats’ for our first meets. New Parents: see more info on heats and seeding here.
New Parents: see more info on how to sign up here.
Go online, log in, and sign up by 4pm on Thursday. Even if you don’t plan to attend, please still tell us that online. EVERYONE should complete the signup process!
Note: Meet sign up is ALWAYS due 3 days before the meet. For the rest of the season, signups will close on Wednesdays. You will also receive separate instructions for CHAMPS Meet signups at the beginning of June.
NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
There are no Relays at the Timing Meet.
There will be heat winner ribbons given after races and place ribbons for pick up during the week after the meet, but no best time ribbons for this meet (as times are unofficial).
Meet Timeline
The timeline will not be finalized until we have all entries in. I will send a detailed email on Friday with everything you possibly need to know.
The tentative timeline is

Call for National Anthem Singers/Performers
We have secured a performer for our Timing Meet, but there are still 3 home meets and opportunities for stellar performances of the National Anthem! We’ve had singers and musicians in the past. Email me if you’re kids are interested, and talented :)
Volunteer Sign Up
All positions are full for the Timing Meet, thank you all!! You’ll receive more information on volunteer sign in and procedures for meet day in the next email.
Please note, you are now able to sign-up for ADDITIONAL POINTS beyond 50 points for the rest of the season. That said, if your family hasn’t yet signed up to meet your 40 point minimum - please hurry as your 1 week grace period is over and we are withdrawing the 50 point cap. We need all the help we can get!
Volunteer sign up closes on Thursday at 4pm as well. If, after that, there is a last-minute NEED for a change, volunteers should try to find someone to fill in for them, and notify our Volunteer Coordinators, Lynn Waldman and Susan Williams at [email protected]. In general, if you signed up to volunteer, we expect you there, we need you there, be there! You can see what you signed up for on your “My Account” page when you’re logged into the team website, it’s also on the free SwimTopia App, download it today! (App Store and Google Play Store).
Enjoy your first week of practice! Sign up for swim events by Thursday at 4pm! More info coming Friday.
Go Seals!
