CHAMPS Meet Details - PLEASE READ!

Hi Seals!

PLEASE READ this email in it’s entirety for meet details and additional info for those who are arriving on Friday!

CHAMPS MEET DETAILS:
June 30th
TEXAS A&M NATATORIUM - 797 Olsen Blvd, College Station, TX 77840
AM Session: 10:30 am Estimated Start (See timeline for arrival/end times)
PM Session: 3:10 pm Estimated Start (See timeline for arrival/end times)

WHAT TO BRING/CHECKLIST:

  • Seals swimsuit
  • Seals t-shirt and/or orange & black spirit wear!
  • Seals cap and goggles
    • Please bring SPARES and make sure swimmer’s racing goggles are RACE tight!
  • Hoodie/sweatshirt
  • 1 or 2 towels
  • HEALTHY snacks
    • Swimmers must pack their own minimal ALLERGY AWARE snacks (no nuts or eggs) and water bottles. They will not be able to access concessions during the meet (and are not meant to have snacks on deck, so keep it light!)
    • If your child has a severe allergy please ensure they have appropriate medication (e.g. Epi-Pen) on hand and inform the Age Group parents.
  • Minimal Entertainment
    • Seating for the swimmers will be tight; pack minimal entertainment. The meet goes fast, the kids need to be listening for their event calls, and cheering on their teammates!
  • TEAM SPIRIT!

SWIMMER CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT:

Seals will have a tent set up near the parking lot, just outside the swimmer entrance. Look for the orange balloons!

Session 1:

  • Check In
    • One parent must accompany their swimmer to check in with the appropriate Age Group Parents - no parking lot drop offs.
    • Age Group Parents will be holding orange signs with their age group and gender. Find the right group for your swimmers and sign them in with their Age Group Parents.
    • Once checked in, you may stay with your swimmer until they walk into the pool, head for the Rec Center Entrance to get your seats, OR go to Volunteer check in.
  • Check Out
    • Session 1 swimmers MUST stay until the END of the GIRLS meet! The boys will finish a little earlier, but will NOT leave earlier.
    • After they wrap Session 2, Age Group Parents will lead the swimmers out to you. They will meet you under the large tree (see attached)
    • Please sign your swimmer OUT! Look for your Age Group Parent, again with the orange sign.

Session 2:

  • Check In
    • Same as above – Find your orange Age Group sign & check in with Age Group Parents. Please let the Age Group Parent know if your swimmer plans to leave early.
  • Check Out
    • Swimmers wishing to leave early should coordinate via text with their parents. Swimmers may exit with the Age Group Parent Liaison after they check out with their Age Group Parents. If parents are NOT directly outside the swimmer exit doors, ready to pick up their swimmers, swimmers will need to return inside with the Age Group Parent Liaison. Seals safety is our primary concern.
    • Swimmers that stay until the end of the meet should check out with their Age Group Parents before leaving. Swimmers and Parents will connect in the parking lot, outside the swimmer exit door.

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN:

  • Our Volunteer Coordinators, Lynn Waldman and Susan Williams, will be checking in volunteers at the tent with the orange balloons.
  • Age Group Parents have an early arrival time and it’s crucial they be checked in before swimmers start arriving.
  • You’ll receive your Volunteer Badge at check in with a sticker designating that you have deck access.
  • Please make sure you RETURN your badges at the end of the session!
  • Proceed on deck for your volunteer meetings (see below)
  • We are still in need of two (Session 2) Stroke & Turn Judges! Please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinators at [email protected] if you can help out!
