2019 Champs Meet Details!

Hello Sensational Seals!

The time has come for our favorite event of the season, the CCSL CHAMPS Meet!

PLEASE READ this email in its' entirety for all meet details, including changes from 2018 Champs, and additional info for Seals arriving on Friday!  The Heat Sheets will be available to view/print tonight and we will notify via Text, Facebook & Email.

2019 CHAMPS MEET DETAILS

TEXAS A&M NATATORIUM - 797 Olsen Blvd, College Station, Texas 77840

NOTEWORTHY CHANGES FOR 2019 CHAMPS MEET!

  • No Food or Snacks on deck. Please do pack a water bottle and have your athlete eat a hearty meal for breakfast/lunch!
  • New Meeting/Pick-up Location (Natatorium Terrace - See Map Link Below)
  • ALL Swimmers (Session 1/Session 2) must stay until the end of their sessions!
  • For Seals arriving on Friday, the Natatorium Diving Well will be open 4:30 - 6 pm for swimmers to have some fun on the diving boards
  • The Competition Pool, will NOT be available for use to practice starts, swimming laps etc.

TIMELINE:


Session 1 - 10&Under

8:00 am: Age Group Parents Check-In

8:15 am: Swimmers and Other Volunteers Check-In

8:30 am: Meet Directors, Coaches and Computer Team Meetings

8:45 am: Marshals Meeting

9:00 am: Swimmers and Volunteers Enter Pool Deck

9:20 am: Warm Ups Begin

9:30 am: Volunteer Coordinator Meeting

10:10 am: National Anthem

10:15 am: Meet Begins

1:30 pm: Meet Ends (approx)

Session 2 - 11&Over

1:15 pm: Age Group Parents Check-In

1:30 pm: Swimmers and Other Volunteers Check-In

1:50 pm: Meet Directors, Coaches and Computer Team Meetings

2:00 pm: Marshals Meeting

2:15 pm: Swimmers and Volunteers Enter Pool Deck

2:30 pm: Warm Ups Begin

2:45 pm: Volunteer Coordinator Meeting

3:10 pm: National Anthem

3:15 pm: Meet Begins

6:05 pm: Meet Ends (Approx)

IMPORTANT INFO FOR PARENTS/SWIMMERS!!

  • Parents will drop off and pick-up your swimmer (before / after their session) at the outdoor Terrace located on the second floor next to the Rec Center entrance. Teams will be grouped together and lead into and out of the pool by team
  • One parent must be present to SIGN IN their athletes with one of the AGP's
  • NO non-volunteer parents on deck, no exceptions
  • NO early pick up of swimmers
  • When the final event is finished for BOTH boys and girls, swimmers will pack up and walk with their Age Group Parents to the Terrace (same location as drop off)
  • Parents must SIGN OUT their swimmers with the Age Group Parent
  • NO SNACKS will be permitted on deck this year. Please feel free to pack a water bottle and have your swimmer eat a HEARTY breakfast/lunch!
  • Pack minimal entertainment. No small toys allowed (legos, shopkins etc). The meet goes fast, the swimmers need to be paying attention for their next event
  • In the case of an emergency and you need to connect with your swimmer please text the Age Group Parent Liaison (contact info below)

WHAT TO BRING/CHECKLIST:

  • Seals swimsuit
  • Seals t-shirt and/or orange & black spirit wear!
  • Seals cap and goggles
    • Please bring SPARES and make sure swimmer’s racing goggles are RACE tight!
  • Hoodie/sweatshirt
  • 1 or 2 towels
  • Water Bottle
  • If your child has a severe allergy please ensure they have appropriate medication (e.g. Epi-Pen) on hand and inform the Age Group parents
  • Best manners, positive attitudes & TEAM SPIRIT!

IMPORTANT INFO FOR VOLUNTEERS!!

VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN:

  • You MUST have a special Champs BADGE for pool deck entry. Be sure to stop at Seals Check-In Table/Tent outside the swim center adjacent to lot #104 to pick up your name tag and volunteer instructions
  • Our Volunteer Coordinators, Betsy Spears and Kim McGauley will be checking in volunteers at the tent (both sessions)
  • Age Group Parents have an early arrival time and it’s crucial they be checked in before swimmers start arriving
  • Proceed on deck for your volunteer meetings (see map - locations & times)
  • Please make sure you RETURN your badges at the end of the session!

Starters, Stroke & Turn Judges, Floaters and Runners: Hospitality Room, Upper Conference Room

Ready Bench: Girls Ready Bench

Timers: Deck End, Boys Side and Girls Side

Awards/Ribbons: Meet Operation, Awards Room

Hospitality: On Deck, By Dive Well

Heat Ribbons/Floaters: Boys Pool, By Volunteer Table

Volunteer Coordinators (9:45 am/2:45 pm) - On Deck, Volunteer Table
