Timing Meet Details | Saturday, May 6 @ 6P
Good evening, Seals Parents,
Reminder: Volunteer sign-ups are open
DETAILS for this Saturday’s Timing Meet
We hope that you and your swimmers are excited for the official start of the season. Practice starts Monday and our Timing Meet will be this Saturday, May 6 at 6P. Event sign-ups will open shortly and will close this Wednesday at 4P! You can access the sign-up calendar here: https://ccrseals.swimtopia.com/swim_meets
The Timing Meet is a chance for swimmers to get times before the official season begins. It is also a practice-run for new families to experience a home meet from beginning to end (while it is not too hot and you don’t question your sanity…)
Reminder, this meet is our "dress rehearsal". We appreciate your patience as we execute some new ideas, work with new parents and make new swimmers feel welcome. Head Parent volunteers will meet after the Timing Meet to make the necessary adjustments to ensure that our first Home Meet, on May 13, runs smoothly.
Other logistical notes:
- There is NO parking on Escarpment. Cars will be towed if parked in the biking lanes. Please park on LaCrosse, east of Escarpment. The CDC and Kiker parking lots are open to Seals families and our guests. Also recommend: carpooling; drop-off and pick-up; wagons; Uber; a party-bus… This is new and significant. It may take us some time to manage efficiently. [Also, please do not park in the spots reserved for mail pickup]
- No chairs for spectators in the pool deck area. We will have accommodations for fans with disabilities
- For safety reasons, ONLY coaches, swimmers and select volunteers are allowed on the pool deck. And absolutely no photos or videos from directly behind the starting blocks
- The DIVE CAFE will be OPEN (thanks Cushings!) Please bring an appetite. They are also donating 10% of sales to the team when you use code: SEALS10
- Kona Ice will also be there Saturday and at all home meets
- Please put your kids’ names on all of their stuff (towels, caps, shirts, younger siblings) to make sure everything goes home with the right family
Meet Entry Details:
- Because we have so many new swimmers we are only going to swim freestyle and backstroke; no breast, fly; IM or relays this round
- Results from the timing meet will be used to ‘seed the heats’ for future meets
- Recommend that if your swimmer is comfortable, enter them in both events. However, there is no rush for newer swimmers. There are many opportunities for them to get a time

SPECIAL volunteer request: looking for volunteers to sing the National Anthem at all home meets (including the Timing Meet). Please reach out to me directly if you or your swimmers are interested.
Seals Spirit!
Everyone looks better in Orange (even if you went to OU). Let’s show our Seals Spirit by getting the orange out!
Finally, our team store will be opening this week, please be on the lookout for the announcement.
Thanks & Go Seals!
