Home Meet Details - Sunday, June 11 v Shady Hollow

Good evening, Team Seals,

As promised, the Shady Hollow specific meet details

Event sign-ups for SUNDAY are open and close on Wednesday at 6P CDT. You can declare your swimmers here:

https://ccrseals.swimtopia.com/swim_meets/490461/swim_meet_entries

Thank you in advance for your patience and support in the marathon that will be our month of June events. We will keep the positive momentum going Sunday morning, when we host Shady Hollow. Our meet theme will be “Western” (Eric Marshall did his best to convince the HOA that bringing his pet sheep for mutton busting in the volleyball court would be safe and fun! Somehow, they were not swayed.) AND parents, bring your swimsuits – time permitting -- for a S.E.A.L.’s relay

MEET ENTRY DETAILS

  • We are limiting the number of individual events to three (3)
  • The event order will be: 1. IM (fly/back/breast/free) / 2. Butterfly / 3. Backstroke / 4. Freestyle Relay / 5. Freestyle (point where many parents wish that rumbling overhead was distant thunder, signaling an eminent storm and not a 737) / 6. Breaststroke / 7. Medley Relay (back/breast/fly/free)

A NEW REMINDER

Respectfully ask that parents do not set up their chairs in age group tents (adjacent to the tents is great; also under the trees in the southwest corner is quite relaxing). Parents in tents, who are not Age Group Volunteers, make it harder for Ready Bench and others to know who to speak to

A REMINDER FROM OUR FRIENDS IN SAFETY MANAGEMENT

  • For safety and access reasons, there is a hard capacity limit for the pool. This limit is being strictly enforced. We encourage you to come and view your swimmers’ events, but respectfully ask that you return to the Plaza Park when their event is concluded
  • Also for safety reasons, ONLY coaches, swimmers and select volunteers are allowed on the pool deck at the start and finishing areas (side of pool is fine; ask that you be careful not block the starters). And absolutely no photos or videos from directly behind the starting blocks

THE FINE PRINT

  • Volunteer changes should be made before Wednesday at 6P. If you have any last minute changes, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Bethany Pendleton at [email protected]
  • There is NO parking on Escarpment. Cars will be towed if parked in the biking lane. Please park on LaCrosse, east of Escarpment. The CDC and Kiker parking lots are open to Seals families and our guests
  • Also: a) please do not park in the spots reserved for mail pickup; and b) do not park in the “peninsula” the part of the lot where new cars go to get dinged. This is reserved for coaches; handicap parking; Volunteers of the Week; and Kona Ice
  • Drop and pick in the Plaza Circle is also an option
  • No chairs for spectators in the pool area. We will have accommodations for fans with disabilities
  • Also: no playing in the sand (kids and adults), no littering, and no leaving without signing your child out
  • The DIVE CAFE will be OPEN. The Dive is donating 10% of sales to the team. Please order enough food to feed your family for the early part of the week. Liz and Patrick sprinkle a proprietary blend of love and MSG on everything they sell. Dive Café food will be fresh until at least Thursday. They think. So, recapture valuable hours spent in the kitchen with meals from The Dive!
  • Kona Ice will also be there -- please study the meet schedule to strategize on the best time to visit the truck AND please let an AGP know whenever you are taking your swimmer on a walkabout

SEALS SPIRIT

Often when I don’t know what to wear, I ask myself, “What would George Clooney wear?” The answer to that question on Sunday morning is, “George Clooney would wear orange”. Let's all dress like a movie star and wear orange

Thanks & Go Seals!
