Important Champs Meet Logistics
Good morning, Team Seals!
Some important updates to get us ready for Champs tomorrow. I apologize in advance for the potential of updates to the updates later today.
Heat Sheets are locked and will be shared shortly. If your swimmer is not in a relay and has a conflict, no need to alert us. The Starters will simply list them as “no show” tomorrow.

REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- The swimmer zoo and the parent zoo will be on opposite sides of the pool (see attached map). We will have some tents for the parent zoo, but any portable shade you can bring is recommended
- Parents will not be permitted in the swimmer zoo other than drop and departure. Please make sure your swimmer has everything they need: team suit; goggles; swim cap; events sharpied; water; ice; favorite (nut free) snacks; chair; towel(s); flip-flops; sunblock; fully charged electronics – with entertainment they actually like; your contact #; your social security #; an embarrassing story about you; and a smile
- Volunteer check-ins will be in the Aquatics Center Lobby. We will have a Seals table set-up for you to sign in (see attached map)
- For safety and access reasons, there is a hard capacity limit for the pool. This limit is being strictly enforced. We encourage you to come and view your swimmers’ events, but respectfully ask that you return to the Zoo area when their event is concluded
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- Because of the number of swimmers and the tight timeline, please plan for extra time to get your swimmers to the Aquatic Center on-time. Our warm-up window is narrow and it is important for swimmers to get a feel for a very different pool
- If you are bringing enough gear to survive in the wilderness for 3-4 days (like we are) drop and park is the recommended arrival tactic
- There is AC in the Aquatics Center lobby (and restrooms). Please come in out of the heat if you are not feeling well
- Swimmers may be checked out early, but must be checked out with an Age Group Parent. (You are guaranteed to be on the short list for Champs Meet Director 2024 if you do not comply)
MAYBE IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- There will be two food trucks: a taco truck arriving at 7:30A and remaining all day; and a general concessions truck arriving at 11:30A and remaining for the duration of Session 2. In addition, Kona Ice will be there -- arriving precisely when the temperature hits 85 degrees
- There will be a live Twitch Stream of the meet. You can access it here https://www.twitch.tv/saabswim
SEALS SPIRIT
Not that we are competitive, but if you are not wearing orange, you could be mistaken as a member of another team and given the cold shoulder. While it will be hot, this kind of cold shoulder will not be refreshing
AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING
Cheer loudly! We are making uniquely amazing memories
Thanks for EVERYTHING and GO SEALS!
