Meet Logistics | Saturday, June 8 @ 8A vs. Shady Hollow Stingrays

Good evening, Team Seals,

Event sign-ups are open and close on Wednesday at 6P CDT. You can declare your swimmers here:

https://ccrseals.swimtopia.com/swim_meets/573080/s...

A HUGE thanks to our Starters, RICK and STEPHEN who SAVED the day as fill-ins at Belterra.

Also, so fun to have swimmers back from Injured Reserve: Camile Woolery and Jackson Dugan hit the pool on fire (like many of us felt at around 1:15) and swam INCREDIBLY for their first meet of the season!

***

Saturday is our last home meet. We host the Shady Hollow Stingrays at 8AM

Our meet theme will be Hawaiian -- Eric Marshall promises to wear something like this on Saturday: https://a.co/d/3wFaGGa

AND parents, bring your own swimsuits – time permitting -- for a S.E.A.L.’s relay.

MEET ENTRY DETAILS

  • Individual events are limited to three (3). If there is any uncertainty in your schedule, please do not sign up for relays. There is no other way to say it, rescheduling relays is as fun as being at Target at 3P on a Saturday and having your two-year-old melt down at checkout, perfectly timed to back up the line into the Home Goods section
  • The event order will be: 1. IM (fly/back/breast/free) / 2. Butterfly / 3. Backstroke / 4. Freestyle Relay / 5. Freestyle / 6. Breaststroke / 7. Medley Relay (back/breast/fly/free)

A CHAIRS-IN-THE-AGE-GROUP-TENTS REMINDER

Respectfully ask that parents do not set up their chairs in age group tents (adjacent to the tents is great; also under the trees in the southwest corner is quite relaxing). Parents in tents, who are not Age Group Volunteers, make it harder for Ready Bench and others to know who to speak to

A WE-HAVE-TO-FOLLOW-THE-POOL-CAPACITY-LIMIT REMINDER

For emergency access reasons, there is a hard capacity limit for our pool. This limit is strictly enforced by our Aquatics Directors. We encourage you to come and view your swimmers’ events in the grass stands or the side of the pool nearest the Zoo. We respectfully ask that you: 1) stay west and clear of the Tech Team, Starters and swimmer pathway; 2) return to the Plaza Park when their event is concluded; and 3) do not set-up chairs anywhere in the pool area. If you have a family member with a disability, please reach out to me directly, and I will be happy facilitate accommodations in advance

AN IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER

I know how much we are all excited to capture the special moments of Seals. There should absolutely be NO one on the deck directly behind either starting/finish area taking photos or video. This includes volunteers who are on deck - and it includes the permanent bench area nearest The Dive. This is non-negotiable. We do this for the safety of our swimmers. Seals have a dedicated, remarkable photographer in Aneta Hayne for this reason. Please join the FB group “Circle C Seals Photos”. It would take an iPhone miracle to capture the same magic that Aneta does. Thank you for understanding

THE FINE PRINT

(At this point in the season, feel free to skip this section and move on to the part where I poke fun at Matt Howeth)

  • Volunteer changes should be made before Wednesday at 6P. If you have any last minute changes, please contact our Volunteer Coordinators, Bethany and Alison at [email protected]
  • There is NO parking on Escarpment. Please park on LaCrosse, east of Escarpment. The CDC and Kiker parking lots are open to Seals families and our guests
  • Also: a) please do not park in the spots reserved for mail pickup and Brave Care; and b) do not park in the “peninsula”, the part of the lot where only Mini Coopers and toy cars can reasonably be parked. This is reserved for coaches; handicap parking; Volunteers of the Week; and Kona Ice
  • Drop and pick in the Plaza Circle is also an option
  • There is no playing in the sand (kids and adults), no littering, and no leaving without signing your child out
  • Circle C’s finest and makers of Kiker Elementary’s favorite breakfast taco, THE DIVE, will be OPEN
  • Kona Ice will also be there -- please study the meet schedule to strategize on the best time to visit the truck AND please let an AGP know whenever you are taking your swimmer on a walkabout

SEALS SPIRIT

WOW! you all looked magnificent Saturday. So well done with the Orange. Let’s all do it again this Saturday! which means you have to do laundry this week. (I do need to point out that the only orange on Matt Howeth was some dried cheese sauce on his sneaker from the night before.)

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

Cheer loudly and have fun! We are making uniquely great memories

Thanks for EVERYTHING and GO SEALS!
