🚨CHAMPS REGISTRATION CLOSES TOMORROW🚨
Good Afternoon, Team Seals!
***Please read this email in its entirety, even as a veteran family of numerous CHAMPS in the past. This year is being managed differently.***
Registration for CHAMPS will close tomorrow at 6:00 PM. I am powerless to help you register late for CHAMPS, so please ... stop what you're doing RIGHT NOW, and DECLARE YOUR SWIMMER(S)!
***
- We are proceeding with the intention of allowing all swimmers to swim up to three (3) individual events.
- In order to be eligible to swim an event at CHAMPS, a swimmer must have a legal time from the 2026 season. You will see this in the sign ups. PLEASE NOTE: The Timing Meet is not considered a legal time from the 2026 season.
- If your swimmer achieves a legal time this weekend, June 13th, at Travis Country, they will be eligible to register for that event in a one-off capacity. The league is working on a form for this one-off registration. I will know more about this after the league meeting this week. Please rest assured we will get your qualified swimmers registered.
- Please be cognizant of the 3-event maximum if your swimmer plans to swim a newly qualified event via the one-off registration. Huh? Slightly difficult to explain, but if my swimmer wants to swim IM, Butterfly, and Freestyle at CHAMPS, and will obtain an IM qualifying time this weekend at Travis Country, ONLY register for Butterfly and Freestyle events right now. We will be able to add a registration for IM if he/she obtains a qualifying time. As I understand it, we will be able to add another event should he/she not obtain a qualifying time for IM (but wants to then register for Backstroke). Switching events (from Backstroke to IM, for example) is much more difficult.
- If you are still confused, please email me, and I'll try my best to help with your situation.
***
Also, please be sure to indicate if your swimmer is available for relays.
*IMPORTANT RELAY NOTE FOR 2026* -- Please plan to have your swimmer attend the full session for your age group if you intend to swim relays. If you are not present for the start of your session, we are forced to make contingency plans with the league-wide computer team, and it gets very, very messy.
***
Again, DECLARE your swimmer by the cutoff.
The cutoff is Tuesday, June 9th at 6:00 PM.
*We CANNOT accept late entries for Champs*
Please declare your swimmer's status for the meet, even if your swimmer will not be able to attend. And if you need some guidance, you can read this great post about how to sign up for meets.
